Depart from Khaplu and journey back towards Skardu. Upon crossing the Shyok River via a charming wooden suspension bridge at Daghoni, our route veers off to follow the scenic path alongside the Thalle Lungma. Prepare to be mesmerized by the picturesque villages nestled amidst fields of barley, corn, and potatoes along the way. Your adventure will lead you to Olmo Village, the highest summer settlement on the Thalle side. Here, you'll have the opportunity to pitch your tent and embark on a brief acclimatization trek, immersing yourself in the natural beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.

Following breakfast, embark on the first leg of your journey, traversing through picturesque alpine meadows. Along the way, you'll have the delightful opportunity to encounter herds of yaks and cows grazing peacefully on the verdant slopes. The Thalle Valley is embraced by numerous snow-capped peaks, enhancing the tranquil ambiance of the region. After pausing for a satisfying midway lunch, resume your hike towards Azalan, situated at the base of Thalle La. This scenic spot will serve as your campsite for the night, offering a serene setting to rest and rejuvenate amidst nature's splendor.

Begin your day with an early start as you embark on the ascent to the pass, reaching an elevation of 4572 meters. Along the trail, be enchanted by the vibrant alpine flowers that adorn the landscape, captivating your senses with their beauty. Upon reaching the pass, be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the majestic Haramosh group to the west and the Siachen Mountains to the east. Following the exhilarating summit experience, commence a leisurely descent through stunning alpine scenery for approximately three hours. Traverse through thick juniper forests, immersing yourself in their tranquil embrace, before emerging into the heavenly meadows of Raseppi. Here, nestled amidst the natural splendor, you'll pitch your tents for a peaceful night's rest under the starry skies.

Today you continue descending through green pastures. After one hour you will cross Bangma River and follow the less steep Shepard trail. You will stop for lunch near the river and then complete the trek to Shigar, where you will walk straight to the hotel for a much-needed hot shower and rest. After re-invigorating yourself at the hotel, take a walking tour with a local guide of the 14th century Amburiq Mosque that received a UNESCO award for restoration, the quaint maze like bazaar and the restored Khanqah. Following a relaxed breakfast, embark on a scenic drive back to Skardu. Upon arrival, you will be conveniently dropped off at your chosen lodging establishment or the airport, concluding your memorable journey amidst the stunning landscapes of the region.
