Itinerary

In the morning, embark on a picturesque journey northwards from Gilgit towards Hunza via the Karakoram Highway, with a brief stop at the Rakaposhi viewpoint. Following a snack break, commence the trek towards the Japanese base camp alongside the Rakaposhi Glacier, allowing approximately four hours for the ascent and two hours for the descent to the Karakoram Highway. Return in the late afternoon and proceed with the drive to Karimabad, where you'll check in to your hotel.

Embark on a day hike to Duikar via the Jumgan trail, featuring a 480-meter ascent. Our journey begins with a visit to the historic Baltit Fort, followed by a scenic route along the Barbar water channel leading to the entrance of the narrow Ultar canyon. Continuing along the Imamyari water channel, we transition to the shepherd trail, guiding us to the picturesque Dhuiker viewpoint. After enjoying the vistas, we'll return via a leisurely walk or drive downhill to Altit, where we'll explore the women's cooperative workshop and the Altit Fort. Conclude the day with a 45-minute walk back to the hotel via a jeep track, where we'll spend the night.

Following breakfast, journey towards Hoper Village in Nagar, crossing the picturesque Hunza Valley. Delight in a glacier walk on either Buwaltar or Hoper Glacier, lasting approximately 4-5 hours. Along the way, explore the ancient Hunza Rock Carvings from the Silk Route era, as well as Ganish village, which is believed to be the oldest settlement in Hunza, dating back over 1,000 years. Later in the afternoon, drive to Minapin and spend the night at a local inn.

Following breakfast, embark on a 3-hour hike to reach Hapakun at an elevation of 2800 meters. The trail winds through juniper trees, leading to the picturesque meadow of Hapakun. From this vantage point, enjoy panoramic views of the Hachindar and Maiun peaks overlooking the Hunza River. After the hike, return to Minapin and then drive to Gulmit in Upper Hunza, where you'll spend the night at the hotel.

In the morning, embark on a drive to Khunjerab Pass for a full-day excursion. Situated at an impressive altitude of 4693 meters, Khunjerab Pass stands as one of the highest paved international border crossings globally and marks the apex of the Karakoram Highway. Afterward, journey back to Passu village, where stunning vistas of the Passu peaks await. Finally, return to Gulmit for an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, take a scenic stroll to Upper Gulmit, where you'll traverse the Ghulkin Glacier en route to Borith Lake. After enjoying the tranquil beauty of Borith Lake, continue your walk towards the Karakoram Highway, pausing at the iconic Hussaini "Indiana Jones" suspension bridge. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Gulmit.

Following breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through the village before departing for Gilgit. Along the way, make a stop at Attabad Lake for a relaxing boating experience. Upon reaching Gilgit, you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
